Holy Mustache Birthday Bazaar

Holy Mustache and Stella Veentaz are planning a 'One Year Birthday Celebration' in Thessaloniki, from Thursday 19/1 till Sunday 22/1. They promise a four-day bazaar of rare and affordable treasures 'for your pleasure and collection'. It will all take place at Ladoze / Toss Gallery, 1 Vilara str. May I note that vintage clothes are about the label and country of manufacturing and not just the looks. How many 'made in Greece / France / U.S.A.' have you seen lately?

Official Sales dates

Winter Sales 2012 dates for Greece were officially announced this morning, after a week of speculation and just 2 working days in advance: Monday 16/1 to Tuesday 28/2. A relief for both shops and shoppers right now I guess.

The Eyelash Curler is back

When M. gave me this (thank you M!) it was the '80s all over again. The eyelash curler! I remember watching my mum use it back when shoulder pads were in. It's making a comeback so here's how it's done:

1. Remove makeup and make sure eyelashes are dry.

2. Open curler and place it parallel to the eyelashes, close to the root.

3. Make sure it's away from the skin and all lashes are in.
4. Close curler and gently squeeze, counting to 5.

(No blinking, pulling or shaky hands at this stage!)

5. Release and repeat step 4 for extra curling effect.

Tata! Now eyelashes should be beautifully curled.

Tips:

* It is important to apply mascara after and not before this process as it tends to make eyelashes sticky and fragile.

* For a long lasting effect I heat the curler for 10 seconds using my blow-dryer. Always test temperature before applying:)

Ten days to go before the Longchamps vs Mary Katrantzou s/s 12 collection is unveiled at Colette - Paris. On January 23rd, 'east meets west' on some of the brand's classics, making them the happiest, most colourful and exotic to date. Voilà:

Greece is for lovers. It is.

Ok, lost for words. Pyrocks is a mosquito coil ring developed by Greece is for Lovers for a fragrance range by Korres Cosmetics. Should it go in production, I predict rocket sales at open air summer cinemas. It most likely won't. A bunch of other rather tasteful products/impossible souvenirs have though and are available at their renovated eshop section.

Madwalk - new date

Madwalk - the fashion music project has moved to Wednesday, February 8th.
Tickets still available (20 & 30 euros). Part of the profits will go towards the charity 'Elpida' Association of Friends of Children with Cancer.

fashionlover.gr - have you seen?

A couple of months old, fashionlover.gr is a fresh addition to the world of eshopping. What makes it good news is that finally there's a web destination including a sweet variety of Greek designer creations, making them accessible to anyone, anywhere. Happy to see some of this blog's favourites among them. On sale too ladies.

la.trap farewell bazaar

la.trap is changing. The Berlin aesthetics boutique that first opened in November 2010 by Psarokokalo & Evrydiki will soon relocate in two new spaces. But first, it's bazaar-time: a farewell clearance is scheduled for this coming Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th, for the last time at Trivonianou 56, Mets.

For the past few months, la.trap had a special place in Athens' responsible shoppers' heart for its carefully selected hand-made, well-made, choice of merchandise. Clothes, jewellery, dolls for kids but adults too, home decor and needlework among others as well as the philosophy of supporting young designers, small productions and eco friendly products.
