Premium Berlin - Now Showroom among exhibitors

Premium Tradeshow is also currently at large as part of the ongoing Berlin Fashion Week (18-20/01/2012). If visiting, drop by Hall 7N, booth H7, C49. It's the Greek mission by Now Showroom featuring Sotiris Georgiou's upcoming collection and limited edition tees by Digitaria. Worth checking out.

Bread & Butter begins - Etsy among exhibitors

Much awaited Bread & Butter Berlin tradeshow kicks off tonight with a 'high voltage' opening party. Being already established as one of the top trendsetting exhibitions, it will be once again welcoming visitors from all over the world between the 18th and 20th January 2012. This season's theme is "High Fidelity".

Among its somewhat 600 international exhibitors, including global giant manufacturers Adidas, Custo Barcelona and Havaianas, online crafts retailer Etsy stands out. Small, independent productions are now in the same list and space as mass production key players, a sign that all those who underestimated them were wrong. If visiting, also look out for Etsy's Photo Booth Yourself area.

Strigles s/s 12 preview + news

Strigles Craftcrime s/s 12 collection is ready. So ready actually as it is about to be presented to retail buyers the next few days at 'Contemporary Creations' Exhibition (13-16/01/12). 'Housewives in Action' is an innovative collection of accessories made by domestic goddesses' weapons of choice. Your sponge wire never looked this cute.

Glow Mi Bone - Bios, tonight

Controversial, urban art exhibition by someone who is no stranger to fashion. Emmanuel Andreou's 'GLOW MI BONE' turns on tonight and will be glowing till this Thursday the 15th, at Bios - Athens. This is new, ought to be checked out then. Here's a peep.

Tell A Story a/w 11 - dates announced

Tell A Story a/w 11 dates announced: 25 - 27 February 2011, at Bios, Athens - Gazi. It kicks off on the 25th with an opening party on the spot, at 21:00, promising 'fashion happenings' for all. For the first two days the exhibition will be open for buyers only. Everyone else is welcome to visit on the 27th.

What Strigles & Kores did in Belgium

They sorted out some business with the European Committee.

They took part at Hobby Creatief Salon in Antwerp.
Shot of Stringles and Kores joined stand, representing colour, creation and... home.
Happy to hear these girls stole the heart of both posh and alternative Belgian shop owners. Soon some their accessories are going north.
Last but not least, a (naughty) picture of a rather wild pair of tights and gloves at the windows of unknown store in Antwerp. I seriously hope they brought this souvenir back.

Ok Belgian readers, two very colourful and creative accessories designers will be bringing sunshine your way at Hobby Creatief Salon, between the 27 and 28th of November. Strigles (above) and Kores (below) are loading their bags as we speak with their most unique winter designs, hand-made in Greece. If your location is Antwerp next weekend, check them out! -Hall 1, 10am - 6pm.

Beyond Dress Codes - exhibition

'Beyond Dress Codes' is an exhibition about to open its doors at the Hellenic American Union Galleries. In accordance to the theme, it demonstrates that traditional Greek costume should not be regarded as the antiquated contents of museum showcases, but instead a creation of timeless interest that continues to serve as a source of inspiration.

In an attempt to create a “dialogue” between traditional Greek dress and contemporary fashion, creations by Jean-Paul Gaultier and John Galliano will be on show, as well as by other distinguished Greek fashion designers such as Angelos Bratis, Dimitris Dassios, Deux Hommes, Yiorgos Eleftheriades, Ioannis Guia, Sofia Kokosalaki, Thanos Kyriakides, Mastori*Motwary, MiRo, Orsalia Parthenis.

Curated by the fashion historian Lydia Kamitsis / Sketches of traditional Greek costumes by sketch artist Gissis Papageorgiou.

Hello and happy Monday nine-to-fivers and everybody else. There's a couple of important, beyond fashion things starting today, in Athens (one's ending tomorrow mind you) so here they go:
1. Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Hellas will be at Syntagma Metro Station, ready to inform you about the prevention of breast cancer and provide free checks. Regular checks could save lives so if in Athens do stop by and see how it's done. Also, press conference at 13:00 - same location. Stay informed / support FTBC here.
2. Medecines Sans Frontiers or Doctors Without Borders are marking 20 years of humanitarian action with a photography exhibition at Taf, The Art Foundation (Normanou 5, Monastiraki). Eight photographers will be exhibiting captions from the organization's work in countries including Irak, Ethiopia and Yemen, there will be video projections, archive material and as well as music: Gagjo Dilo Gypsy Swing Live (13/9, 21.30) and Just Brass Quintet (19/9, 21.30).
