FF Thought #12

There must be so many boutiques I've never walked in in Athens. This one I came across because there was a very rare... parking spot right outside it at Anthimou Gazi street. Obviously a very old tailor shop, with six digit phone number still at the window. And a half price sign. There must be so many boutiques I've never walked in in Athens.

FF Thought #11

How much do you know about what you spend your money on? The more conscious our shopping choices are, the less people will suffer for a pretty shoe on somebody else's foot.

There's a soundtrack for everything these days.

FF Thought #9

"Fashion is fun".
"Fashion can be fun".
"There was a time when fashion was fun".
"Fashion is what you make out of it".

FF Thought #8

"When at a hair salon for the first time, don't ever go for the hairdresser with the perfect hair", someone once told me. "Most likely the best one is the messy-looking at the back: fully booked with appointments, too busy making everybody else's hair look great thus not having a minute to spare on her own".

They qeued. They pushed. They pulled.
They bought a pair.
Victory!
Whose?

FF Thought #6

This must be the most honest designer item I've bought. It's a Marc by Mark Jacobs souvenir pendant from his Paris store, priced at 15 euros, featuring a brand tag. I can almost hear him say: "you want something cheap with my name on it? I can give you something cheap with my name on it". No precious stones, no knock-off.

No, fur doesn't grow on a tree.

*no bunny was harmed in this post. It lives happily behind the curtains of a friend's flat & my hand-warmer is pure synthetic fur.

You are a designer. A fashion blogger notes similarities between your work and a fellow designer's. You:
a)
Explain your source of inspiration as well as the fact that coinsidences are common in fashion.
b) Invite the blogger to your atelier, make her familiar with your work and win her over.
c) Discredit the blogger on as many facebook walls as you can. What does she know about fashion anyway.
d) You call the fashion police.

Is fast fashion, crap fashion the way fast food is crap food?

FF Thought #2

When I am down, I go shopping. A new pair of shoes always makes my day! It gives me such pleasure to bring new buys at home!!... (and then wear them just once) (and then get stressed like hell 'cause I am running out of space and my credit card is sinking in debt)
(I am down again)
(when I am down, I go shopping)

Therapy? Sickness?
Some people? Sometimes.

FF Thought #1

Marc Jacobs bag, £3.350, spotted on the pages of British Vogue, May 09.

Strikingly similar bag, 20 euros, spotted in mum's closet, bought somewhere in Italy ages ago.

A: Why on earth is this bag so expensive? I can get the same elsewhere for 20 euros.
B: Yes, but this one is made in EU, has better stitching, unique prints, is branded, will last.
A: But I don't want it to last! In four weeks it will be out of fashion anyway...

Fashion. How much does it cost? Too expensive. Too cheap. At what cost...

Camera's back

-Are you going skiing?
-Hah?
-What are you wearing these boots for?
-Oh. Because I like them.
(and that should be all it takes)

Camera's obviously back. Today the weather was lovely. Hope you wore whatever makes you happy...
