Group hug

Out for a drink and I'm faced with this tee - owner confirms it's BSB. Around half past late, friend wants to know what's it about. Clearly it's about loving a bunch of folks called Stella, Tom, Marc and Viv.

Looking good

Spotted in Paris.
They look like they've just walked out of the pages of a magazine. I find myself saying this way to often in that city...

Stylish at le metro

Some of the most stylish people on earth are waiting for "le metro" in Paris right now, drop-dead gorgeous or simply cool, holding a designer bag or the next addition to their green balcony.

AXDW - till next season

This was the last photo taken at the 6th AXDW (literally): in the centre, organizer Tonia Fouseki among colleagues, designers and models who stayed on the spot till the very last minute.

I always enjoy AXDW because it never promises more than it actually delivers, and it delivers well. Nice touches are the fact that it chooses to support a cause (this season was awareness about the modernist era buildings in Athens), the choice of space (megaron ethnikis asfalistikis), the informative booklet (designers contacts and bio) as well as the parallel events (best fm live casts) and it's lounge, small enough so that everyone gets to meet each other and mingle.

I am not going to go into details of shows I liked the most and so on. I think when I particularly liked a show, I made it clear the way I did for FWA shows. At the end of the day, a successful collection is marked by how well it sells rather than how nice a catwalk was. Time will tell! Before finishing this last post on AXDW for a while, here are some photos of people I never got the chance to post before. Till next season!

Doukas Hatzidoukas, a blonder version of him. Always a fan of his work.

Theia who is model-like herself, on the left, Evangelia on the right and... not sure who (sorry:)) in the centre!

Stelios Koudounaris showing off Evelina Papantoniou's gorgeous back.

Costume designer Marli Aleiferi, soon to leave Athens for Crete for the filming of mega channel's new mega-production, "The Island".

Celebrity Skin Dimitris Strepkos (far right) in his best Hollywood smile.

Soho Symposium Hari K. in total black. Well almost!

Fashion Architect Lopi in brighter shades of grey and...

...eye-candy shoes, looking ever so comfy:)

In his shoes

This is Spiros Zanias and this blog officially declares him as "Sitting Hero of FWA 09". Spiros was one of the floor managers in charge of the sitting at the recent FWA and I tell you, I wouldn't want to be in his shoes - which by the way were lovely and thought the bow touch deserved a picture of its own. I was watching him since day1, trying to place the right people in the right seats, literally guarding the front row from those who didn't give a fig about fashion but just wanted a good view and making sure everyone was quickly placed at the best available spot. He was dedicated, effective and in the end most guests were happy, which is not easy to achieve with such a mad bunch! Here are some highlights:

Alecca Rox: Which was the funniest moment you can recall?
Spiros Zanias: Each time I heard the words "do you know who I am?"

AR: Which was the toughest?

SZ: A very rude lady kept coming each day, demanding to sit in the front row, even though she had no relation to fashion or any of the designers. She was rude and offensive.

AR: Which advice would you give to someone in charge of this job?
SZ: Three conditions - be polite, be patient and be quick. Good luck!

Matalou@home

No doubt, Matalou's bags and accessories make a statement. They are always top of my list and it was great to have the chance to see her new desings at Tell a Story #5. Sharing:

Matalou herself is such a positive, seriously creative person that's so into "happy" irony. Here posing for my lense wearing a mask she made for fun. The whole flu issue is not funny, but all the frenzy around it can be quite ridiculous. Being cautious is one thing but if you are to walk around in a mask, let it be a cool one!

Busted! Matalou is a walking explosion of creativity. Had to take a picture of what she did to her jeans. If you are to recreate, plz credit:) (Matalou, not me!)

And whilst we are at it, here are some shots from her stand at the previous Tell a Story. Never got a chance to show them before and they are good examples of her style and spirit. No Sir, you "don't f*ck with Bruce Lee"! Notice the variety of colours and materials she uses. Also note that she gets personally involved in the production process. Each Matalou@home item you fall in love with, the creator has personally put all her love and attention on first. Thumbs up.
