Only been around for a few hours but the title 'Bikini 2010' wasn't hard to give. Block colour strapless tops over black unders seems to be the thing to wear this summer, on this island. At least most girls do! Alecca's beach report, over and out.

I'm leaving the city behind me once again much sooner than I thought - this summer is full of surprises. Work has come with me and I'm currently re-living the 90s with dial -up, but I can't complain! Hope you're all close to holiday too. Till then, stick around for more summer posts from somewhere in the Aegean.

A pocket size fan. I almost collect them. And thank God for that or those hot summer nights in the city would be totally unbearable. I am surprised that even though our temperatures are quite tropical in the summer, fans are not massive. I remember a few Julys ago in Ibiza, a fan was the accessory to hold. Even clubs and bars had such cool(ing) merchandise.
Postcards. I used to know all of my friend's post codes. Now it's emails and not quite since my provider does that for me. True, emails or facebook are faster but you're left with nothing once you've logged out. Besides, like my neighbour said checking his mail the other day, it's only bills in the post these days. Go on, make someone's day.

I've always considered orange to be a defective colour. An imperfect version of red. However it's suddenly grown on me, especially after trying on this one-shoulder top at the recent Two in a Gondola bazaar.
I am a fan of Anna Economou's bags - I think I made a point of that this past winter. This clutch is from her summer collection, available upon order only (here) and currently on sale. The garden birds print is such a nostalgic seasonal theme and so is the whole shape idea, strongly resembling some of my grandma's 60's gems. I can almost hear 'come and get me' tweets*.

Exotic waters right? You might be thinking these are shots from my recent trip to Crete but... surprise: I snapped them yesterday, between Vouliagmeni and Varkiza. Do not underestimate Athens Riviera.
The news is out: the house of Guy Laroche is coming straight from Paris to hold a show in Athens for the first time ever. When? In October, straight after the Parisian Fashion Week and as part of the 8th Athens Xclusive Designers Week schedule. It has also been confirmed that Marcel Marongiu, the 'Directeur Artistique' of Guy Laroche will be attending the show in person.
This is 'Noa', a souvenir store at Plaka, Elounda - Crete. Turqoise-meets-pistachio colour dominated, this is not your usual souvenir store. Which is why it got my attention. I always like to bring something home from places I go.

Modern Cretan pottery at its best and some sweet handcrafted leather goods I couldn't resist. In the end I got a wind-proof ashtray and a much needed multi-wallet with spaces for money, coins, cards even keys that fits my hand (and small evening purses - great!).

Oh, and I have a new favourite nail colour:)

Em... ooops. Here's a problem I'd never come across with my cats. Today I'm dog-sitting my mate's puppy and I thought it was about time she had her first swim. It totally beats me why stray dogs can have all the fun in the world by the sea but vaccinated, trained and supervised dogs are not welcome. At least it wasn't hard to find a quiet, empty beach nearby.
