Fact: oldskool glass ornaments reflect light like no other. Diamond effect is a bonus. Fashionably (very) late, I started dressing my Christmas tree for the occassion. If I go on like this, it's gonna sparkle enough to be visible from a satellite. It's still pink. How's yours?

Saturday night Metalla

Elias Fragoulis and Ino Mei promised Metalla would be a night of casualties. Count me among those down. I'm still hurting from last night - not sure if it was too much dancing or too much laughing that got me in the end. Turns out their ruthless djing brought trash* music fanatics and metal headbangers closer, under a shower of carnations (!?!) as well as... the threat of an enormous sword. Had to see to believe.
*some stongly insisted it was classics.

Had forgotten how much I like this mix of Nirvana vs Rick Astley. Kept 100% of the house happy - although I've got the feeling half was dancing to one part of the mix and the rest to the other.

Sunday run

So you have a great Saturday night at a music festival and you end up sleeping over at someone else's place. Happens often or sometimes. But. It's not often when this someone is an avid runner and is going for Nike Run 10k in the morning. Oh-oh:)(Apparently bananas are the thing to eat after a long run or intense exercise)
(Thought these two had style. Go stylish runners. - actually they were good athletes too)
Beautiful setting, morning spent in nature, lively music and athletic people ready to run like the wind in high spirits. Kids playing in the sun, dogs chasing batterflies, kinda like a tv spot. Plus participants win cool Nike Run gifts. Great.

Not so great: you are still wearing the shoes you wore last night - you haven't been home yet, remember? a) you get the look and you deserve it, b) you fear for your life walking on that ground in these shoes and c) shoes look this dirty once you're out of there. On top, you are also wearing jeans thus you can't go chasing batterflies too whilst everybody else is sweating for a new record. That's fail x 2.
Outfit hazard aside, it was a fun event, promoting health and fitness and suggesting an alternative to all wasted Sunday mornings sitting (snoozing) at the sofa, doing nothing. Happy I ended up there after all. I might even go for it next time, just to be a part of this.

*Runner I went to cheer for made an excellent finish. Respect.

This is what the parking's wall at Karitsi Square, Athens, looks like these days. Any idea what's it for? Haven't got a clue but I like the colour on this massive block of cement.

Surfing & surfing

The other day these kids shook the beach with their invention, a surf board dragged by a fishing boat. They were giggling for hours, falling off, stirring the water. Looked like so much fun! Which reminded me...

...about a lifetime ago, I've had a taste in San Sebastian, though the waves were no fishing boat (have never drunk so much sea water -possibly small fish too!- in my life).

Didn't care much about what we wore as long as it took us to the beach. Well, life's got humour: these days surfing to me is being online, posting about clothes.

Where have I put that boogie board I wonder.

August comes in colours

In case you are starting August on top of a suit-case about to load and go, I suggest you pack it with colours. We've had enough grey and all shades of 'dull' walking around during last winter and most likely we'll have them again. I packed a rainbow and I'm glad.

At the port before too long

I'm leaving the city behind me once again much sooner than I thought - this summer is full of surprises. Work has come with me and I'm currently re-living the 90s with dial -up, but I can't complain! Hope you're all close to holiday too. Till then, stick around for more summer posts from somewhere in the Aegean.
